I have a book with me from English to Italian and you will use that during the period that we are together but I will mostly speak in Italian and English when needed. I think that speak and listen and have exercise just in the language you want to learn is the best way to do it.
I have been working with a lawyer in the past five years and I had to deal and talk with people with a high level of education such as lawyers, geometer, architect, the presidents of different banks, business man, investor and any other kind of people related to this kind of level. I prefer the communicative approach because most students learn grammar but what good does that do them when they can't speak the language? All lessons are based on communicating and being able to speak the language being taught.
