I am a graduate with a major in History and a minor in Economics. I graduated with honors and understand the importance of an education. I have received certificates in communication and have used these skills in teaching youth for the past 6 years. I have also tutored in math while attending Junior College and received high grades in all math classes that I have taken. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.
I first discovered my love for teaching in high school. I excelled in many areas and helped my fellow students learn. As I furthered my education, my passion for teaching grew and my style changed. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in using the differentiated approach to teaching--based upon the seven intelligences. I plan for all lessons being taught, and state the objectives on the board for each lesson. I present the lesson, allowing the students to interact and respond by activating prior knowledge, discussing points and inviting them to ask questions. I like to interject related activities at 20-30 minute intervals to keep their interest up. I also like to provide centering and closing activities.

I have taught grade three for four years. I have taught fifth grade for five years. I have worked as a special education teacher in a moderate-to-severe special day class for two years. I have substitute taught for two years in grades k-12. I am currently an adjunct ESL teacher for a junior college and have taught pre-level I for two years and levels I and II for two years.
