During High School I taught at a science camp for 3 years. After college I went and lived in China and taught university level ESL for 3 years. I have worked for a few local tutoring organizations in the last 2 years as well as doing private tutoring. I have worked with ages 8-24 for tutoring and teaching and I have taught/tutored English, Math, Science, and history up through the 8th grade level. When working with children, I try my best to be engaging, interactive, and fun. If necessary, I'll use props (e.g. building blocks) to help illustrate concepts, and I always try to ask many questions along the way to make sure my explanations are clear. With older students I will use a slightly more textbook approach, but keeping lessons interactive still remains essential, and props may still be useful in some circumstances.
