A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach my students giving them real examples of the topic viewed in class that day. I give them all the tools and information needed and then try to ask questions in regard to the topic and create a more interactive environment where they can feel free to ask and participate. Some times I bring them up front to resolve mathematical problems or just for their seats to come up with the answer. As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. A Little Bit About Me...

With my background in social work and facilitation, I have learned that flexibility and patience are critical when teaching young people. Each session with a young person involves meeting the child where they arere at, honoring and praising what they do possess, and then moving forward to areas that may be a bit more challenging.
