A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught school for five years in a public and private setting. I taught at Challenger Middle School for one year. I taught at The Pinnacle Schools for four years. It has been a rewarding experience to teach private and public school students. I enjoy watching the students grow and mature in the learning process.

I graduated from one of the top teaching schools in the nation (according to NCATE), and have a degree in elementary and special education. I specialized in math education, but am also qualified to teach English, science, and social studies. I have worked with children as young as 2 years old and as old as 15 in a formal setting. I have helped children go from hating a subject to being successful and loving it.
I first and foremost believe that every child can learn, and I refuse to entertain any idea that says otherwise. I have found that a constructivist approach works best for most children, and I will always try this approach first. I try to make learning as hands on and relevant to the real world as possible.

A Little Bit About Me...

As both a teacher and a counselor I have worked to develop a teaching style that is student focused. In order to do that I want to inspire and challenge the student to reveal their abilities and interests and track them as they develop. The student and I will set specific goal areas with attainable steps, so that we can both check the progress. Teaching is my passion. Students need to be challenged, engaged, and eager to learn which is fueled by the enthusiasm of the teacher. I recognize that not every student in my classroom learns in the same manner. Various teaching methods need to be combined so that students have the opportunity to learn in multiple ways.
