As an English teacher, I have taught students to write for 35 years. I particularly enjoy one-on-one teaching; I also enjoy asking students questions to draw from them the knowledge they are seeking. I have taught English at the high school level for 33 years, both in public and private school. Currently, I am an instructor for a GED class. I team taught with a special education teacher for several years and encouraged the private school where I taught to hire a special education teacher at the high school level. Reading will help with writing. I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style. Teaching brings me pleasure.
