I engage the student with questions and illustrations. I am big on gentle correction and encouragement. I know the difference between Latinized English and real English, and I share this with my students. I know grammar is something one can't prescribe, just describe. I have tutored off and on since high school, and have been a substitute teacher for all grades for the last six years. I excel at spelling and grammar, and had a classical education in literature, Latin and Greek. Because of this classical education, I have been able to teach in-depth,and to share the etymology of many English words with students and teachers alike.
