After graduating with a double major in Psychology and English with an emphasis in Literature, I started my graduate work in English and a teaching position as a high school English teacher. I took education certification courses and passed the state exam for the State of Florida for middle school and high school English. I was an instructional aide for Adult Education at Martin County where I tutored in spelling, grammar, literature and prepared adults for the G.E.D. I have teaching experience in all areas and with students of all ages form being a substitute teacher. I returned to the work force recently from being a stay at home mom. At my children's school, I was the President of the PTA and volunteer in the classroom. I remained active in the community as the Woman of the Year for Beta Sigma Phi Sorority raising scholarship money. I am able to relate to students using their learning

I believe in life long learning and I encourage children to apply themselves to do their very best.I also encourage children to determine what their best learning style is and to apply their learning style to fit their specific needs. For example some children require a more sequential repetitive approach to learning. Other children require a system in which they practice what they know through an oral approach or a hands on approach to learning. I am currently teaching remedial reading and Math at Mary Immaculate School located in Key West grades k-8 I have taught bilingual students I have also taught high school level students, Biology, Math, Language Arts, Spanish and fine arts My 20 years of experiences has allowed me to work in urban schools, rural schools and in private schools. I have most recently been trained to teach Adults through Literacy of America as a volunteer.

I am passionate about mathematics and I enjoy teaching it. Various students have different styles of learning and it is only through individual exposure that I am able to find the right learning technique for any give student. Patient and faith in the students, however, are the most determining factors in teaching them. I recently graduated from Florida International University. I have been working as a tutor in mathematics for various levels, particularly college, since I started my mathematics degree program. Ever since I have been working as a tutor, at least part-time, to help those who have problems in mathematics succeed. Every time a student improves it is truly satisfying and I consider it an achievement.
