During my final semester as an undergraduate, I applied for Teach For America and was accepted as a 2014 Corps Member in the Rio Grande Valley. Part of my Teach For America Summer Institute required corps members to teach summer school at Houston ISD campuses, where I taught middle school math at Patrick Henry MS. I was hired by Harlingen HCISD for the 2014-2015 academic year at the Harlingen School of Health Professions as an Algebra I instructor.
