My comments on tutoring Economics : Whether it is help with a macroeconomics course or the international political economy as a whole, I offer academic tutoring that is coupled with real world knowledge of financial markets and business practices. I have been tutoring in this field for five years.

I am a firm believer that different people learn in different ways. Therefore, while I teach by my own set of principles I am always seeking feedback on how better to accommodate the manners in which criteria can be better understood.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would be best described as creative and improvisational. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics. My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics. I frequently use positive reinforcement so the student feels even more encouraged to learn.
