The most rewarding moment in my teaching career involved Emily, a college student who suffered an injury, leaving her with severe short term memory problems. During my ten-week internship at the middle school, I had five classes of sixth grade advanced reading students. Since each class was about 20 students, I had about 100 students in total. The middle school has about 908 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Of those students, 58% are white, 24% are black, 8% are Hispanic, 4% are Asian, and 6% are multiracial.
