As a recent college graduate, I understand the demands and expectations of high level educational achievement. I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of Maine, BS in Secondary Education in Mathematics and BA in Mathematics, and I feel confident that education has prepared me to teach a wide variety of mathematical disciplines. In addition to my education, I have experience student teaching in multiple unique educational environments and taught mathematics ranging from 6th grade math to high school calculus. During my last two years of college, I also held a paid tutoring position in a after-school academic program where I tutored middle school students in math, English, social studies, science, and music. I provide enough background information on the subject matters first, give a big picture of the subject matters and then break things apart and teach them parts. This methodology has always been effective because students find it easier to learn all the necessary ingredients in order to grasp the big topic. I always make sure students are given enough practice questions on subjects like calculus, physics and chemistry. My experience as a tutor during my school years has taught me that students have hard time on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Calculus and Biology, not because they didn't have good instructors, but because students were not provided enough background information on various topics. I have always employed a fun-filled curious environment to my students which have helped them come up with more questions and instill passion on the subject matters.

I am eager to get back to teaching. I love to work with children and I know it is a gift from above. I use many hands on techniques to help my students learn. I also observe my students to see what technique of teaching reaches them best. I use the method that is needed. After, graduation I was an Ed Tech III. Assisting in reading and math.
