I believe students should be pressed not to memorize facts but to use critical thinking skills, tying things together and seeing relations so a multitude of similar problems can be solved. I have two degrees from college: A Master's Degree in Communications and a BA in Journalism. I have been teaching now for about eight years (all levels). While going to college for my education degree, I taught preschool for 5 and 1/2 years before my semester of student teaching in Kindergarten before graduation. A few months after receiving my BA and Teaching Certificate, I began teaching preschool again and have substituted middle school some as well. I have also held a Child Development Associate while teaching preschool.
I truly enjoy teaching children. Each child is different and learn in different ways, so I use the teaching types to make sure each child is learning the best way they can.
