I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 from SUNY Brockport with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, English and Special Education. I have worked as a substitute teacher in all grade levels and in all subject areas. I have been accepted into a high degree Masters program but feel I need to have a job to justify the repayment(s) of additional student loans that would be needed to finish my MA. I have recently been a four county advocate for people with special needs as the Disabilities Program Navigator. I would still hold this position if funding had not run out. I have had the unique opportunity through my diverse educational experiences to work with many different types of people. My initial degree is in Social science from Alfred State University. Throughout my education at Alfred State University I truly believe I began to understand and appreciate others and their differences. During my studies at SUNY Buffalo I tutored in Regents Math which I also took when I was in high school. In Virginia Tech I was a Graduate Research Assistant. I ran Aerospace Engineering labs, assigning work to undergraduate students which I graded. I was available for multiple hours per week assisting students in their homework and lab reports. Since then I have been a math tutor in calculus. Engineering requires a solid understanding of math from the basics such as algebra and geometry to more difficult calculus and linear algebra.
