Adaptive to the individual learning style.
I have excellent communication skills and I have taken the coursework to be a Social Studies Teacher from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I believe that presenting material that fits one's learning style is a key to success in difficult subjects. This year I taught math at Community of Peace Charter school in St. Paul, MN. I taught 3 sections of 8th grade math to a very diverse student population. Approximately 25% of the students receive ESL services outside of the math class, therefore I learned the difficulties that these students have with math vocab and context situations. I dealt with the broad range of math skills by running a math workshop model during the classroom blocks. This was very successful and was well liked by the students.
