A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for 13 years in the subjects of Math and Special Education. I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Basic Math, and Special Education math. I have worked with a variety of students including learning disabilities, at-risk, struggling in math, ADHD, Autistic, Hearing Impaired, and many others. I am a life long learner and interested in several different areas of study. During my BS degree, I majored in Biology and minored in mathematics and earned a teaching certificate. Then I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I developed and taught a “Business for Doctors” class at three different colleges. I also enjoyed maintaining my private practice. I then became an Executive Director of Education & Training for a Louisiana corporation. I wrote instructional manuals for company owned and franchise clinics and presented training seminars. I earned a MA degree in Guidance & Counseling & became a high school counselor. My primary goal has been to be an advocate for the students and teach them how to learn.

My experience in education has been wide and full of variety. I began working as a linguistics tutor for the university. I worked with several students over the course of the two years in which I worked for the department. I began my field work at Mt. Morris Junior High School performing my observations. I completed my student teaching at Lapeer West High School, before graduating with a BA in Secondary Education.
