Although I have a great deal of dance experience, tap is certainly my forte and my favorite kind of dance. I began tapping at age two and continued tapping through college with the UNC-CH Starheels Dance Company. I have three years experience teaching and choreographing tap to children and adults of all ages. I practice a more traditional, jazzy style of tap, however, I am also acquainted with 'street' style tap. I have a degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel. I have also completed internships with the local NPR station, WUNC, and with the organization AGRADU (Advocates for Grassroots Development in Uganda). I have danced since the age of five. From the age of fifteen until the start of my college career I competed nationally in jazz and tap dance. . I also worked professionally as a dancer for Theatre West Virginia. Since completing my Dance degree from UNC-Greensboro I have concentrated primarily on modern dance techniques, yoga, choreography, and performance. I am extremely patient and understanding. I earned a degree in Biology, which has fully equipped me for tutoring to children who have difficulties in any subject, but especially science.
