Experience Summary
I have a degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and have two years experience writing for the Daily Tar Heel. I have also completed internships with the local NPR station, WUNC, and with the organization AGRADU (Advocates for Grassroots Development in Uganda). I am highly organized, responsible, and driven, and am very personable. I work well with children and young adults; I am the oldest of five children and during high school and college, I worked as a dance teacher and nanny. I'm currently working on publishing my first novel.
Teaching Style
I am a patient and understanding teacher. I enjoy fostering close relationships with my students so that I can cultivate my methods to best suit their learning style.
My Hobbies
My hobbies are generally artsy--if you can classify it as an art, I am all about it. Dancing, Writing, Acting, Singing, Painting, Drawing, and anything involving glitter or a hot glue gun.
Other Comments
As someone who has fought a life-long battle with ADHD, I am very sympathetic to learning disabilities and difficulties. I have many strategies for dealing with ADHD/ADD and for helping others develop their own strategies for learning to cope and focus.
