My comments on tutoring Organic Chemistry : I got an A in Orgo with minimal studying and did undergrad research in it.

I have taught Anatomy and Physiology at the college level so I know the kind of questions that will be asked on exams and can teach you what to focus on. I can give you practice exams. I have tutored in Biology and focus on my student's needs. I got a 33 on the MCAT without studying much and I can teach you how to do that too.
I am focused on getting you to understand the material such that you can answer multiple choice questions easily. I focus on test prep. I like to use examples in real life to help you understand. If one example doesn't work, I use others. I prefer to use animations to get you to understand.

I designed and implemented lesson plans for 11th and 12th grades:general chemistry and Mathematics concepts. I taught chemistry at the Undergraduate(BS) level: Physical chemistry and Organic chemistry. I taught mathematics at the middle school and high school levels. My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. I feel like since everyone learns differently, a tutor should approach a problem from as many angles as possible. My teaching style is also very patient. I suppose the saying "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime" would apply to my style. I try to make sure the student understands the principles behind the type of problem and not just how to do the one problem. That way, if they see another problem like the one they just learned, they can apply what the learned and do the second problem.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught classes for students ranging from high school to adult with course material from the very basic to highly advnced concepts. I was known for covering curriculum material in a through and patient manner. My teaching style could best be described as a pyrimid approach, a firm understanding of basic principles before moving to the next level of complexity.
I earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in math. I worked for US Dept. of Agriculture as a methods development chemist which required a knowledge of chemistry, physics, math and statistics as well as high level computer skills. I have taught classes for over 15 years at Athens Area Technical College, University of Georgia Continuint Education Program and as owner and lead trainer for Athens Computer Training, Inc.
