I believe the best environment for growth is a safe environment. While earning my MA in English, I spent two years tutoring students in English and training/mentoring other tutors. For the last two years, I have been designing and delivering trianing curriculum. I have plans to return to Middle Tennessee State University in January 2012 to earn my PhD in Math and Science Education.
I love helping people, particularly children, reach their full potential by becoming life-long learners. Something I have always enjoyed while tutoring is the moment that the student 'gets it'. In order to properly prepare the student for their future education, you must show them the importance of the process of learning. The idea of the process builds the student's ability to work independently, thus giving them a valuable life lesson. I believe every student is special and learns in different ways, and I try to adapt quickly to their learning style.
