Calculus I is one of my top subjects!

I am a senior mathematics education major at Bradley University. I have been tutoring both high school and college students for 6 years, and have had high successes in each level of math for many different students and learning abilities. Each student has an individual learning style, and my goal is to discover that and help students learn to learn. No one has to be "a genius" to learn math, rather they must work at it.

A Little Bit About Me...

From my experience of working the Math Lab at ICC, I have noticed that for some students, math is a rather difficult subject to them. Therefore, I always try to make sure my students understand everything I'm explaining and I always ask them for feedbacks so I know that they clearly understand everything. I always go over and review the materials I have taught/explained to the students so if there are any shady areas, I make sure I go over and expalin it again. My goal in being a math tutor is to help other students understand as much as I do.
I'm a 2009 Illinois Central College (ICC) graduate majoring in Engineering Science. I love the process of really getting to know a student on an individual level. That is crucial to determine their learning style and their strengths. It is incredibly rewarding to experience a student's progression and also to learn from them in ways you wouldn't expect. I love to put myself in the students' shoes. I have the ability to relate to the students on an individual level and they respect me. I taught one semester of College Algebra at Illinois State University. I was responsible for 2 sections of lab while I completed graduate credits for a Master's in Mathematics.
