First, I examine what is needed to be helped with. Next, I sit down and ask the student what he or she seems to be struggling with and why. From there I build a lesson plan with the student and give them the tools they need to succeed. I have worked with children with ADHD and aspergers. I am an undergrad at HACC majoring in Biology. I prefer to work with students one on one, getting a sense of their skill level, and then engaging with them where they are at to help them work towards their own personal goals. I have been playing chess for close to seven years, many of those at the tournament level. I was a natural when I started, and have only grown in my concepts of the logic and theory of the game.
