I only bring what helped me earn a 4.0 at fresno state and fresno city college.
I have very little experience in tutoring. I do however, have a B.A chem degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I can bring this experience to help others achieve what I have. I really is not that hard. I just takes lots of time, dedication, and sacrifice. I do have experience working with groups of other students, and have been giving out good study advice for years. However, If time and energy is not dedicated to studies, good results will not follow.

Hands-On Learning

I love to interact with children. I believe that children should be involved with their school work. Hands on work and visual interactions help when certain curriculums don't sink in. Involving children to learn, beyond taking notes, helps them understand difficult subject and also helps them retain them better to memory.

My motto is one that I adapted from my high school, which is learn by doing. Most students aren't auditory learners, so if I simply spout off a bunch of facts or a mathematical process, then chances are they won't learn anything. My experience in the teaching field has been primarily as a substitute on a daily basis. I have some long-term sub assignments in my resume as well. For the past 7 years I have limited my assignments to "Home/Hospital". I meet 5 hours per week with each student to provide complete instruction in all subject areas for the student(s) unable to be in the regular classroom setting due to illness. It is very much a tutoring situation as 5 hours per week is not nearly enough to provide the detailed instruction available on a daily basis.
