I work at the level of the student and I like setting goals with my students to create motivation. I am good with different teaching methods, whatever works best for the the student to learn.
I have been a tutor for over four years now. I work with all ages, at Sullivan Learning Company I work with K-8th, at Clovis High School I worked with high school students and I have done Spanish tutoring on my own with adults. I also teach Sunday school so I am accustomed of working with both individuals and big groups.

I like to break things down into baby steps. However, my teaching style will change according to how each student learns the easiest.
I am hoping to tutor students from k-8th grade because I know I have more than enough qualification to help them succeed. Plus, I have worked as a bible studies and piano teacher at my church with students in that range. I also have enough tutoring and academic experience to be able to tutor these students. For ~3 years I was a tutor for students learning English as a second language (for I speak English and Spanish) at Reedley College. While earning my MA in English at California State University, Fresno, I spent two exciting years teaching beginning college writing. I chose to teach the class for students who did not pass the entrance exam for Fresno State because I enjoyed working with the diverse, and primarily ESL, students who populated these classes. I also spent three years tutoring many terrific students there in reading and essay writing. Currently, I volunteer to tutor adults, and attend professional development meetings in tutoring, through the Tulare County Library’s “Read to Succeed” program.
