I've tutored two kids in my neighborhood for 40 buck every two weeks. It was a marvelous experience because they were very respectful young boys...majority of the time. It was kind of hard for them to keep their focus so i drew a plan which was rewarding them with candy and toys, and of course since it was my idea I didn't charge extra. I enjoy working with students of all ages, although most of my experience has been with middle school age and older. I use a couple of different techniques to help students understand math, including using visual aides, problem solving techniques, role reversal (where they explain a lesson to me), blackboard/whiteboard work, and games.
