I have been working with younger students since middle school as a leader at my church in the children's church summer bible school program as well as other church events. Academically, I have earned the Gold Humanism in Medicine award, thus I have a strong ability to relate and communicate with others. I graduated cum laude from D'Youville College with a BS degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. At D’Youville in 2001-2003 I tutored advanced sciences. The most complex course was Gross Anatomy in which I worked with students on both coursework and laboratory dissection. I also tutored physics and biological chemistry, my area of particular interest. I have approximately four years of research experience and published a paper while at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. I have worked in Organic Chemistry, physical chemistry, molecular biology and microbiology. I also have experience with standardized tests such as GRE and MCAT.

From working with various types of students, I have learned that not everyone can learn material in the same manner. I myself am able to relearn and understand material very quickly and effectively. It is this skill that has allowed me to help friends, "little brothers," and teammates learn material that was previously a struggle for them.
