A Little Bit About Me...

Ever since I was a child, I have been passionate about everything English: books, writing, and grammar. I followed my passion and earned both my BA at a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania where I was encouraged to continue my education to the Master’s level. At SUNY, I decided that teaching was the only career path with which I would be happy. Over the past six years (during both my BA and MA), I have been in the positions of discussion leader (leading to a better understanding of the literature students were reading), Writing Center tutor, and First-Year Composition instructor.
Although my teaching style very much depends on the experience of the student and whether I am teaching literature or writing, I approach each student, first and foremost, as a person. A Little Bit About Me...

My love of mathematics began while I was in elementary school--I looked forward to those classes and took as many as I could from my high school, Wyoming Area. I had, at one point in middle school, helped to tutor some students in one of my classes. While in college at Susquehanna University, I had the priveledge of tutoring pre-calculus to local Selinsgrove High School students. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share my passion for math with others. I believe anyone can comprehend math if given the right tools--learning math is like building a pyramid, you need the base to get to the top, and that is what I try to do, help these students grasp a solid base understanding of the topic. While at Susquehanna, I also participated in study groups to help other students in my classes.
