A Little Bit About Me...

I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I have tutored, un-officially, all during my college years, forming study groups to better help my peers, as well as having volunteer positions tutoring in math and english.
I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. I love to teach students of all ages. I love the looks on their faces when I help them get something that they never thought they would learn. I am very patient and love to show them a few short cuts on different things that way it makes it easier for them to learn and comprehend. The teachers and tutors of this country are the ones responsible of forming our children and make them ready for the real world and what they can do in it.
As a graduate in Accounting, I was given the tools to be able to teach and comprehend a lot of math skills. I was able to take both Business and Math Courses in college including: Business Management, Calculus, Business Accounting, and Algebra. During the last 4 years I have privately tutored students in math and 98% of them went from being F students to B-A students in both math and business courses.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Susquehanna University and an Elementary Teaching Certificate from Bucknell University. Most recently I was an educational liaison in an alternative classroom in the Pocono Mountain School District. I worked for a technology company providing online curriculum for the students. While in the classroom, I tutored the students in all subject areas where they had difficulty, but specifically concentrating on tutoring the math courses. I just completed a graduate course on using technology in the classroom, and also courses on Reading Strategies and Graphic Organizers to help students be more successful in their studies.
