I believe that students do not learn the same way. My teaching style incorporates all learning styles. When teaching a lesson I believe in using secondary reading sources, technology, video clip and other creative outlets. I believe that you must motivate the student to learn not thrust curriculum at them hoping it will sink in. I have five years of experience working with troubled youth and students with disabilities.

A Little Bit About Me...

I traveled for a year with a family and home-schooled their 3 children. The children were in 1st grade, kindergarten, and pre-school and were seriously below grade level in math and reading. In that year, I brought those children beyond grade level in reading skills and comprehension as well as math skills. I have also been a teacher's assistant in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms and have gone through student teaching in the 3rd and 6th grade in order to complete my degree. As a graduate of the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University, I was given the opportunity to create art in a recently built, state of the art facility. I started college straight out of High School in 2005 and completed my degree in just over four years. I was awarded the Art Star award for the painting program, I also received a scholarship from the school for the advancement of photography and painting.
