A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that students do not learn the same way. My teaching style incorporates all learning styles. When teaching a lesson I believe in using secondary reading sources, technology, video clip and other creative outlets. I believe that you must motivate the student to learn not thrust curriculum at them hoping it will sink in. I have five years of experience working with troubled youth and students with disabilities.
I have been teaching English and History education for three years. I have experience on the 7th, 8th 9th and 10th grade levels. For the last three years my high school English courses have been centered on ACT prep. for the ACT/MME students take their junior year. A Little Bit About Me...

Though I have a degree in classroom education, one-on-one teaching is my heartbeat. I believe it is the highest good for a student's learning. It prevents your student from getting "lost in the crowd" and allows us to focus on his or her needs. My first goal is to determine how the student learns. Using creative strategies and different methods, I do my best to take a confusing or frustrating subject and make it understandable, if not enjoyable.
