While I was in high school, I took honors courses and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I tutored an 8th grade-9th grade boy in TCAPS preparation and helped him complete homework in Math (pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-geometry), Science (biology), and English. I tutored him for two years. After I graduated high school I was accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I am currently in the spring semester of my sophomore year. I will be returning to Johnson City this summer and am available to tutor. I babysit two young boys currently, one of whom is 5 and I help him with kindergarten homework,such as learning words and reading. I am capable of helping with all ages. Specializing in English, Spanish, and Elementary help!!

My area of expertise is the English language and grammar. I took two year's worth of Advanced Placement English classes during high school and made either 4's or 5's on both exams. The score of 5 on my senior level exam allowed me to place out of Freshman English during college and jump right into Sophomore English. I just made an A in that Sophomore class. I also took Spanish for four years during high school, and have already taken a college level class with a final grade of A. I will be taking another class this coming semester, and after only three more Spanish classes I will have a minor in Spanish language. I practice my Spanish on a daily basis and have used my skills a countless number of times in the workplace. Special Tutor/Teacher

I have taught school for 29 1/2 years in Special Education . My positions were in Preschool Special Needs, Elementary Special Needs, and High School Occupational Course of Study. I have taught in both SC and NC. I love teaching preschool -elementary students. I have always had a passion for teaching because both of my grandmothers and my mother were teachers. Now my 3 sisters are teachers.
I try to teach by the style that seems to be the best for that student to learn. I am very patient and realize that each student takes a varied amount of time to grasp material. Hands on materials and fun activities are great ways to keep the student engaged.
