A Little Bit About Me...

I have completed my B.A. from Regent University in Government. I have strong skills in logic, math, and political philosophy. The program that I completed placed a strong emphasis on reading and writing skills and because of that I have also become proficient in writing and English related processes. I was a tutor at Butler County Community College for almost two years. I helped students through all of the math courses up to Calculus III.
I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. Being a big sister has always been my favorite job; therefore, I have always sought out opportunities to mentor. I believe that each child is unique and learns at his or her own pace, and in her or his own special way. Each person understands concepts differently, and I believe that, to be effective, a teacher must discover from what angle to approach a lesson, for the student's optimum ability to absorb the information. I am very patient with my pupils, and I try to create an environment for the student that is comfortable and friendly, so that they feel safe to learn and apply the things they are learning.
