I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. I believe in stretching their mind while providing support to the necessary skills to accomplish the goal at hand. I do great with children. I have often participated in the children's ministry at my church and enjoy the opportunity to teach on that level. Being a big sister has always been my favorite job; therefore, I have always sought out opportunities to mentor. I believe that each child is unique and learns at his or her own pace, and in her or his own special way. Each person understands concepts differently, and I believe that, to be effective, a teacher must discover from what angle to approach a lesson, for the student's optimum ability to absorb the information. I am very patient with my pupils, and I try to create an environment for the student that is comfortable and friendly, so that they feel safe to learn and apply the things they are learning.
