A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a Physics Faculty at Wichita State University. Before that I had been working as a Graduate teaching assistant in the department of Physics, New Mexico State University, where I taught integrated Lab physics courses to both physics and non – physics majors. This position enabled me to provide these students with a “head start” in mastering conceptual skills in general physics courses. My Labs were integrated rather than traditional. I used a variety of techniques such as computer simulations, PowerPoint presentation, group discussions, videos presentations, online tools and a variety of homework schemes to beautifully unveil the various concepts in Physics.

While in Statesboro, ga completing my studies I served as an after school tutor for elementary students in the Bulluch County after school program. I recently graduated from Sanford Brown Institute in Atlanta, GA where I earned a degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology. From very early on I have been drawn toward teaching. As a student I was a tutor for many of the classes I took. I tutored Chemistry I, Beginner and Intermediate Algebra as well as a number of Accounting classes. When I graduated I immediately began looking for positions that would enable me to teach. I was very lucky to be offered a position as an Adjunct Professor at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. I have held that position since January, 2010 and I love it!

I am a very relaxed person and possess an easy going teaching style. I consider myself very approachable and encourage those I am tutoring to ask questions. I specialize in math and biology and am able to teach to students with varying aptitudes in these subjects. My math teaching style consists of working practice problems and teaching different ways of solving problems since each student is different, not the same method works for each student.
