When I was in high school I had a lot of anxiety about math. I went back to college late in life and I was terrified that I would have to take a few math courses to graduate. It wasn't long before math was my favorite class and I changed my major. When I was in school I helped a lot of my classmates with calculus. After I graduated I got a job as a tutor working with high school students on preparation for college entrance exams and mathematics. I found that to be very rewarding.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am new to tutoring, but not to teaching. In college, whether I was studying differential equations or the intricacies of cellular processes, I took the time to support my classmates and explain difficult concepts. When I was called to service, I spent four years in the Air Force, lecturing, mentoring, and teaching my fellow servicemembers, breaking down highly technical information and helping them succeed. Teaching has always been my passion and I was excited to earn my bachelors degree in secondary education at the University of Northern Colorado in December of 1998. If they can realate the information to an actual happening, they are more likely to remember. In terms of test preparation, aside from learning the information it is important to work on test-taking skills (relaxation, focus, etc.).
