In my tutoring of students in reading and math, I have assessed each child and from the assessments I have build a program that address the child's needs. Some of the materials that I have used are project read materials, open court phonics,Linda Bell's materials. So, I have the greatest interest in finding areas that a child needs help with and then finding materials and methods to solve their problems. I have taught elementary students for 27 years. As a lifelong lover of literature and writing, I have taught students from fifth grade through junior level college literature and writing courses. The reason I don't want to teach music in the schools is because all children learn in different ways and at their own pace. I find it easier to work one on one with them so that neither one of us is frustrated. I have tutored children in elementary school with math and reading so I have the experience and patience to work with all ages of children. As far as music goes I have helped fellow peers in high school and college.
