Experience Summary
I have taught elementary students for 27 years. I have taught 2nd-4th grades. I have done graduate work in reading and have obtained a reading minor. I have experience teaching students with many different reading processing difficulties. Both in my classroom and in my own tutoring business. I have helped many students become better reader. It is in the summers that I have operated my own tutoring business. Working mostly with children from our Title one reading program. I have also tutored students in math.
Teaching Style
In my tutoring of students in reading and math, I have assessed each child and from the assessments I have build a program that address the child's needs. Some of the materials that I have used are project read materials, open court phonics,Linda Bell's materials. So, I have the greatest interest in finding areas that a child needs help with and then finding materials and methods to solve their problems.
