My comments on tutoring Drawing : I focus on realistic drawing from life.

As an art educator, I was required to master many different mediums. I have practiced drawing, painting, two- and three-dimentional design, Photoshop, printmaking, jewelry-making, and photography. My emphasis is pottery. I can handbuild and work on the potter's wheel. I create excellently-crafted functional pieces. Few things bring me more pleasure than baking in something I have made with my own hands. I have experience teaching all ages of children and adults alike, and can adjust my teaching style to whatever is appropriate for my students. English and Writing Tutor

I am a senior at the University of Tennessee and am majoring in Architecture. Coming from a background of advanced English classes at Oak Ridge High school, writing and composition is my strong suit. I have tutored an architecture student who was taking a writing intensive essay course on "Theory of Architecture" and helped her sharply improve her weekly grades on papers. Also, during my freshman year in college, my summer reading essay was chosen as one of the top out of thousands of incoming freshmen. Drawing is one of my top subjects! Majored in illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design, skilled in life drawing, plein aire and the mechanics of composition and the tools of the trade.

I've been involved in the arts since high school, and I graduated summa cum laude from one of the top arts colleges in the world, Savannah College of Art and Design. I earned a B.F.A in illustration, which I'm currently using to illustrate a series of graphic novels. I also have over 19 years of dance experience, had my poetry and short stories published numerous times, and enjoy working with others on things that we share a passion for.

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from the University of Miami, I taught Kindergarten, a 3rd/4th grade combination, 6th grade, and computers/technology. After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others. For the last 4 years, I have been a Reading Resource teacher, working with students in phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. In my current job, I work with students in Kindergarten through the fourth grade. My students enjoy their time with me and have all improved their skills significantly. I am also well respected by my supervisors, principals, and my peers.
