I have earned a PhD in philosophy from the University of Virginia, and taught at the university level at Virginia Tech, UVA, Hampden-Sydney College, West Point, and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for ten years. It is important to understand that, as a science tutor, you should not employ one teaching strategy but tried to incorporate differ methods. A great example would be a bowl of salad. There is such variety and different types of the same thing that goes in a bowl of salad. Teaching is the same way. You have to work with different teaching methods but still able to put it together and have it still looking good. I believe that not every teaching strategy do not always work with every student’s needs. One student might not understand anything he has read, but he might understand through a demonstration activity.
