As "stay at home" mom of 6, I have used my two Bachelors' degrees for the education of my own children. I've taught them essential reading and writing skills, study habits, organization skills, science projects, practical application of principles, and a love of learning. I have also home schooled my children. I teach violin and piano out of the home and have spent many hours volunteering in the public schools with ESL and teaching early morning Spanish courses. I have earned dual undergraduate degrees, a BA in Mathematics and a BA in Economics, from Eastern Washington University. While attending EWU I worked as a econometrics tutor and teaching assistant. I have been admitted to a PhD program at Washington State University for this coming fall. Through tutoring at EWU, I have demonstrated an ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations. I have strong quantitative skills in mathematical, statistical and economic contexts.

I believe students will rise to the level of expectations set for them. I am a bit of a comedian, and I use humor to allay frustration in learning situations. I believe in setting goals and charting a specific path for reaching them, while being flexible enough to alter the path along the way. Praise and positive reinforcement are powerful tools when teaching challenging material, and I use them frequently.
I received a BA in General Business from WSU, and was honored as a Cum Laude graduate. The courses were varied and included a wide array of math application, from supply and demand curves to interest rate calculations. My classmates gave me the nickname "Webster" because I was frequently asked to edit their papers and to tutor them in several different subjects.
