A Little Bit About Me...

I really do not have a teaching style yet. A one on one setting is what I am used to. I am open to different teaching techniques depending on the help the child requires. The internet is available and has many different techniques to learning different subjects I can research as I see fit.

I have been told by my first year teaching mentor that my style of teaching is "unconventional". Although I majored in English, I had a concentration in creative writing and a minor in visual arts. I think of writing as an art, and so I use creative methods in the classroom to teach students. I believe our youth's attention span is getting shorter and shorter due to television/media and modern day technologies. As a teacher, it is imperative that you hold the child's interest. Throughout my entire undergraduate education, I tutored other students in multiple areas of mathematics, which was highly recommended as a math major, but I continued to tutored after I changed my major to finance one semester before graduation. I began teaching algebra level 1 and 2 to high schoolers before taking a job in finance. I currently work for that same company and have obtained my MBA in the meantime.
