My best skill is Math, I have always been proficient at it. As an Engineer, I have had the opportunity to learn more and take advantage of this skill, and I want to share it, I love teaching. I am also a member of MENSA. I have been tutoring children and adults since 1999, teaching Math, Physics & Spanish. I was also a Math teacher in a High School in Venezuela, for the PAA (SAT Equivalent).
I believe I have a good mental connection with children. Teaching Math is not just about solving problems, using specific methods, equations & formulas that the student has to memorize, and then will forget after a couple days. It's about understanding the problems, it's about knowing where the problem is, and how to solve it using basic Math knowledge and some axioms, step by step, even reinventing the answer, if possible. A Little Bit About Me...

Motivating students to want to learn is a key facet of my success as a teacher. I have found that educating people to understand ‘why’ things are done is essential to having them truly understand the subject matter being taught. In short I teach them how to learn. My approach always includes the “coach approach” so the student knows you honestly want them to win and get a good grade in a particular subject. An essential component of the “student teacher” experience is developing a verbal performance contract in which responsibilities of the student and the teacher are very clear. This way the student learns to “trust” me and wants to learn more from me.
