Upon enrolling my children in school, I decided to be an active part of their education. So, I assisted their teachers with everything I could. Eventually, I became a trusted part of the school system (an honorary teacher, so to speak). They began giving me more responsibilities, concerning the children of the school. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1996. I began my teaching career in Monticello, Florida teaching 1st grade. I taught 1st grade for four years. Later I moved back to my hometown, Okeechobee, Florida, and began teaching 5th grade. I have been teaching 5th grade for the past eight years.
