I truly enjoy working with students of all ages. It doesn't matter what they don't know because I believe anyone can be taught anything, at least as long as you have the right teacher and materials at your disposal. I believe students are like little sponges. They're taking in everything around them. Obviously, if you fill their heads with garbage, they will learn garbage. However, if you fill their heads with quality information, you explain it in a way that they understand, and you make it fun for them to learn, then they will learn everything you're trying to teach. There are thousands of educators, but only a few real teachers who can get a message across in such a way that the student doesn't just do the work, they UNDERSTAND what they're doing and why. As far as I'm concerned, if a student doesn't learn something, it's not because he didn't try. It's because I failed to teach him i ... read more

I understand that all children learn differently and I am able to adapt my teaching style to fit the child. I am both patient and positive and I like to give the student confidence. My goal is to not only help the child learn, but to also give them a sense of confidence. It is important that each student believe in his or herself as well as their capabilities.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an elementary education major I have been given the experience in working with different grades in my internships. I have also learned and applied elementary school material. I was given the chance to observe the different ways of teaching and was given a chance to help students in small and large groups.
I love to teach and help all children. I believe that each child has a different learning style, and I know that not every child should have to learn in just one way. I believe in hands-on activities to teach children. I believe that all children can learn as long as they are having a positive learning experience.

I am certified to teach both math and reading in Florida. I am particularly strong in helping students to understand the basics. I became a teacher because I feel that I can make a positive difference in my students' lives while providing them quality instruction from a teacher who truly cares. My last teaching assignments were in preparing high risk students to pass the FCAT and the GED. My students exhibited a ninety-seven percent pass rate on both tests upon passing my class.
Students should be taught as individuals based on their particular learning styles. People learn at their own rate.
