A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Lynn University, I am very much driven to help students excel in Academics. I work for a grant funded program called, Upward Bound which I work and mentor high school students in the pursuit of going to to post-secondary education. I mentor students in financial aid, homework assistance, essay, reference letters, procedures how to get into college..I have also tutored students in reading, science, math, English, psychology.
I believe all students can learn if they put their mind into it and have someone supporting them in their efforts. I like to mentor/tutor outside the box, by being creative in my approach, for example: showing them math by painting and measuring, or baking..It helps the student realize that education is everywhere in life..It is not something that is only used in a classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

I possess a Bachelors of Science Degree in both Elementary Education and Teaching Children with Moderate Special Needs with a Minor in Psychology. I also obtained at the Bachelors level, a Specialization in Reading which is the equivalent of a Masters in this area. This allowed me to become Florida certified to teach Reading at all levels. I also have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on School Guidance.
My focus is to make learning as fun and exciting for all students. I am extremely creative and will often create my own materials that are geared toward a learner's intersts. I provide a learning experience that is patient and relaxed.

I am an actuarial science major with minors in business and mathematics. I've taken math courses in college algebra, precalculus, calculus 1-3, linear algebra, financial mathematics, business statistics, ordinary differential equations, and two upper level math statistics courses. I have a very strong background in mathematics and statistics. I have tutored at my school and through several honor societies that I was involved in.
I work well with children of all ages. I am extremely patient and realize that everyone learns a different way. I try to appeal to all senses through my teaching styles. I provide constructive criticism and positive reinforcement. I make sure that I am understood and think that through examples and experience is the best way to learn.
