I received a B.A. in English from Northern Illinois University in 2010. I am a certified High School English teacher for grades 9-12. I took a class during my B.A. called Advanced Essay Composition and I feel like that shaped the way that I write; and took my practice to a whole new level. Moreover, when a student gives you an answer to a question and uses an example of something that you taught them earlier, it really shows you how quickly they can pick things up. My teaching "style" is very open--I will have an outline and while I am presenting I will sometimes ask for examples from the students to help get us through the outline together.
