The Student Comes First

I allow my teaching style to mold itself to each individual student, finding methods of communicating the information that best suit the learning style of my student. I favor a holistic approach to learning, believing that education should be of the whole person. If a student learns how a skill in his tutoring session can be applied in real life, then his or her perception of the subject may fundamentally improve.
I am a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, with experience tutoring at Tennessee Temple University, as well as University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in various topics, including biodiversity, mathematics (up to pre-calculus), history, and American Sign Language. I have worked in both General Education and ESE education. I speak spanish fluently and french, semifluently. I also have some background in American Sign Language. I have also worked with the emotionally disturbed child.
I use whatever works best for the child and can hold their attention span. It depends largely on the child's age, interests, and whether or not there are any learning, or any other disabilities. All children are capable of learning and enjoying to learn. I believe all children, whether normal developing or special needs deserves the same experiences, just delivered in different ways.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a Cum Laude graduate from the University of Florida, I continue to hold a high level of discipline in every aspect of life. Whether it be at work, at home, or at school, I feel it is imperative to do your best no matter what the situation. Upon graduation at the age of twenty, I began teaching undergraduate courses for UF. This was an honor, but it was not challenging enough. It was not until I helped students with severe mental and physical disabilities that I felt fulfilled in my profession. Being able to teach student who are eager to learn, but have obstacles during the learning path, is a blessing!
