I did tutoring as a high school student. I tutored other students in math. The tutoring program also placed me in kindergarten and first grade classes to help the teacher where needed. I have two children that are always asking how to do things. In addition, I have tutored adult friends for the GED test and the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). I have finished the Income Tax Course with H&R Block at the end of 2010. Everyone has their own way of learning. The key is to figure that way out and use it to their advantage. If the person is a slow learner, then a slower approach is necessary. If the person is a fast learner, then a faster approach is required.

While in college I earned a GPA of 3.239. I received an associates in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting. I also distinguished myself by being on the dean's list for four consecutive semesters. I was also a peer tutor, working for the college. In the workplace I wound up being the first person in the history of the company (Biddeford Textile Corporation) to hold two management positions at the same time. I trained and supervised many fellow employees in operation of computer hardware and software. I am patient and easy going. I have always loved working with children. Through my experience as a special education instructor, I have learned children can learn in a variety of ways. My teaching philosophy is that each child has different strengths, and it is imperative to tailor an educational program to these strengths. By highlighting what a student is good at, their confidence is increased. This confidence will help them overcome academic obstacles.
