Upon completing a BS in Education (Dual Certification), I decided to go on for a MDiv in Theology. I was ordained a minister, and thus spent 40+ years teaching, counseling,and preaching. My life has been changed by art. As a child I took art lessons and learned that creativity is much more than making art. Creativity is a way to train your mind to think outside the box. Creativity can be applied to communicating and problem solving in many areas. I come from a family of educators. As a member of the Art Alliance I mentored fellow students on their work and helped them create a cohesive body of work and their artistic voice. The key to being a good teacher is being patient. I believe children learn best in a positive and stress-free environment. When a child does good on the work then I praise them and if they make a mistake then I explain to them the error in the homework. When I was a small child, I remember my teacher being patient and helping me along the way.
