I tutored before but of course I wasn't paid for it because it was at my old elementary school. I helped children from ages 8-13 which I was only 11 or 12 at the time. I maybe young to tutor children and maybe I should wait until I'm 18 but, I love helping children with their homework and watch them accomplish the subject.

Additionally, I have experience in Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Analysis, Instrumental Analysis, Physical Chemistry, Functional Human Anatomy, Cellular Biology and Human Physiology Laboratories. I have also given a presentation based on research of the relationship between serotonin and depression. My comments on tutoring Anatomy : I recently took A and P I and II, and did very well in both sections

I think that I am very clear and concise in my explanations of concepts. I am also very good at explaining concepts in multiple ways. So if a student doesn't get how to do a problem using one method, I can go over another approach. I'm a good listener.
I have been teaching math since 8/2000. I first began teaching in a large urban district and then switched to teaching in a private school. I have taught math at both the high school and middle school levels. The subjects I have taught include algebra I and II, geometry, AP Calculus AB,and middle school math. I have tutored math every year that I taught, and also tutored GED math for 1 year.

I love teaching and enjoy working with people of all ages. I am available to teach the following subjects: math, science, ancient history, paleontology, archaeology, writing, mythology, reading music, musical instruments/basic beginner classes (guitar, violin, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer), Visual arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, fashion design), gardening, herbs, horseback riding, and more. I am a firm believer in teaching by allowing the student to be more interactive - more hands on. I find that students learn more quickly if they can be physically involved in the process, and that they retain more information this way. I look forward to working with you!

I earned a well rounded education from Western Kentucky University with a strong emphasis in math / Engineering. Since College I have pursued the Surveying field. I have recently obtained the status of Professional Land Surveyor with the State of Kentucky. I have taught young graduates surveying practices in relation to the Engineering field while in management positions. I would be very excited about teaching children.
I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization. My teaching style would consist of trying to get the student to understand what they are studying which is considerably better than just simple short term memorization.

I started a volunteer home work help resource in my home when I lived in North Carolina. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is not something I had initially aspired to but found I am a teacher and motivator by nature. I love the challenge of figuring what pieces, educational, each student is missing and helping them fill the their gaps to reach the next level and have things come together for them. I am very patient and try to make each session fun and interesting. My students and work associates have always enjoyed working with me and I like feeling/knowing that we all came away with something we didn't start with.
I have loved education and the process of learning since I was a child. It is very important to assess what the student already knows and the level of understanding they hold at the beginning. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught. Working one-on-one is the best teaching method; however, when that is not possible, working in small groups is also very effective.

I love teaching and working with people. I am very patient, creative and I always strive to meet every student's need. I always make sure the students understand the material before we move on - if they don't I explain it again in a different way and make them do further practice.
